Chicken Stew/BBQ Festival/Spencer's Birthday Party

Annual Family Chicken Stew at Pop's Barn Friday night. We had 39 people and tons of Chicken Stew!! S'mores were yummy too! Cooper & I carved a pumpkin with dinosaurs (using cookie cutters). It turned out great!! With the race in Martinsville, daddy made it to chicken stew too... That made it even better.
Saturday morning we headed out to BBQ Festival. Crazy crowded at 9:30am - trying to beat the rain possibly coming with hurricane Sandy. We made the downtown laps, bought some 'junk' and headed home. After a quick stop at grocery store & shower it was Party Time!
Spencer's 3rd party was at Cheer Mania and it was a Scooby Doo hit!! Cake was amazing (thanks to the wonderful Leslie Ward) Kids & adults had a great time! Home to open presents with Daddy & crashed!!

Good times!!

This week has been full of fun & family. Friday night Emily & Morgan slept over, always a good time!! Saturday we headed to Tanglewood for our annual Pumpkin Patch adventure. Brook, Lincoln, Cathy & Elle Jae joined us. A beautiful day, perfect weather! Sunday after church, lunch with Grandma & I gave blood at church. All 4 kids played at Nana'a for more 'in the woods' adventures. Cooper went with Tessa & Chase to choir practice. Tuesday Spencer started his gymnastics class, he did so well. Listened & took part in all the activities!! Nana picked the boys later and took them to pick up Chase at school. Then back to her house to play in the woods. When I got there we tried a new Pinterest craft and dipped leaves in wax. The boys helped the first 3 mins, then they were off again :) now that they have started venturing in the woods, they love it and have a great time doing 'big kid' things. Mom cooked spaghetti and Kadi, Ian, Grandma & Grandpa came by. We are outside to enjoy this amazing weather. We had cake & ice cream for Ian, Grandma & my birthday. Today we have done our school work and now the boys are swimming in the hot tub... Yes in late October!!

Cooper starts gymnastics

Tuesday (10/16) we went to Lincoln's gymnastics at Clemmons Gymnastics to check it out. Cooper has been asking to start for a while. Never has he asked to participate in something as much. With the NC/CO living I know it will be hard, but man I want him to try it if he is this interested. Both boys got to try it out Tuesday... But the class was for 2-5yrs. The ladies felt like he needed to go to Level 1/2 boys. That started today. So this class had avoit8-9 boys that range ages 6-8yrs old. Bless Cooper's heart, he was lost from the stretching on. These boys obviously had been in class a while & knew what they were doing. Cooper got upset as they told them to do things that he didn't know what they were. But after a few embarrassment tears, he try every bit of it. He did well and did his best. Now we know what to work on and he wants to continue! Spencer will stick with Tuesday classes. He was sad not to get to practice today. His poor little tooth is getting more gray everyday (from Talladega fall) Hoping everyday for it not to get worse.

Busy weeks...

Last week the boys had dentist appt. cooper did excellent, acted like a pro. Spencer let them get through it all with no tears, just a bit of complaining. We ended up doing x-ray on Spencer tooth because of his fall in Talladega. His front tooth showed some damage, do we go back in 3 months to check it again.
Friday night, mom watched the boys so Brook, Cathy, Jill & I could eat dinner. Long night as we sat down at 7:15 and got our food at 8:42pm. But got to visit with friends & a free meal. Saturday we decided to stay home and go to Chase ballgame, then lunch with Bowman's. Boys all got to play and that was nice. Decided to grill out at our house that night. Dellinger's came, Bonnets, Bowman's, Brook & Lincoln and kids all played, ate burgers, made s'mores and watched the race :) Todd's first race with K. Busch. Finished 21st... Umm.
Sunday, after SS we headed to Lincoln party at Cheer Mania, then straight to Shannon wedding! It was so pretty, sweet & calm. They looked great. All the kids were in it.

Talladega, AL

Thanks to Lorra & Clint our trip to Talladega went from 7 hour drive to a one hour flight. :) The boys and I left Lexington at 10:00 to come to track to see Todd. Easy flight, boys were hyper. Our bus is parked right in front of MRO and the playground. So boys are in heaven. We did some school & played a lot more.

Been Busy

Since landing in NC last Wednesday (26th)... Left for beach Thursday, the next day and stayed til Saturday night. Got home around 10:00pm Sat night. Off to church Sunday where we were greeted by 'welcome back' from everyone. Nothing like church to make you feel at home. Then we went to the Hines Reunion, then off to see MeeMaw & Cousins!! Nice to sit and visit with no rush of time. Got home late from there, Monday we were off to run some errands, start cleaning up the house (just felt dirty from sitting a couple weeks)... Dogs to vet for FLEAS... Boys to get hair cuts... Buy Halloween goodies, bought two fish & groceries!! Chase came for a couple hours to play Monday night. Tuesday, decorated Halloween, showed house to Jenn & hit the Dixie Classic Fair, with Nana in tow!! Got home in time to do some school work & put Cooper'a bike together (thanks Stacy). Wednesday was more relaxed, school, lunch with Jamie & Waylon, drop papers at bank, swing by pumpkin patch, drop boys at ball field with MeeMaw to see Em, Moe, Blaine & Gavin all play tonight while I go to church for Circle Meeting!! Love being home, but funny how we fell right back into 'running' around. I need to do better with sit down time for school! My goal for next week... But Todd is home, may be hard!! Good thing Coop is so smart :) more later...
