Todd's first race with Furniture Row Racing!!

July 29, 2012  Todd's first race with Furniture Row Racing!
After much thought and conversation, Todd took a job with FRR out of Denver, CO and though he has been flying back and forth for a couple weeks now. This was his first Sunday on the pit box. So after church, we headed to Grandma's for some lunch and actually sat down to watch the race. Something I have to say, I personally haven't done for a WHILE. But I was excited to see how today was going to go. They qualified 14th, pretty good and started out with a bang. They were in the top 10 within the first few laps of the race.  They hung out around 7-8th for about 100 laps of the race. With a 2 tire pit call from Todd, they were sitting 2nd at a restart (with about 60 laps to go)...agh!! But at the restart Regan Smith & Brad K. got together giving some fender damage and not to mention probably a scare to both drivers...#78 fell back to 24th. So with tire call and a little damage what was going to be a GREAT race, ended up just a good one!! Regan fought back and I mean FOUGHT, that boy was driving... to finish 18th, drag racing across the finish line! Great job with Todd's first race with new team. I have to say I am excited to watch next Sunday. I am missing Todd and we'll be joining him soon, but I feel like a good solid run Sunday helped assure him, that he is going to be a competitive Crew Chief again and that makes me smile.

#78 Furniture Row Racing car was paying tribute to the 12 lives lost & 50+ other victims in the Aurora, CO Theater Shooting last week.

Fun Friday!!

Today, 7/27/12 we had our schedule packed... We were 'suppose' to do our normal visit to the YMCA, but boys slept in and my body agreed to skip. So we started off by meeting a lady in Lewisville to purchase a LEGO table I found on Craig's List (for the CO house). So we bought that, then headed to Kohl's (Nana was meeting us) to spend a gift card that was to expire. I love getting Kohl's Cash, so they suck me in, and I spend another $65.00 (just enough to get MORE Kohl's Cash, so I can do it again in a week...agh, clever marketing). I purchased several Kindergarten books for Cooper and even a Preschool book for Spencer :) After a bit of shopping, we headed to Jason's Deli for a quick bite with Nana. Then off to Cooper's painting class at Masterpiece Makers. My girlfriends and I had gone one night to Merlot & Van Gogh and had a great time. They offer summer classes for kids. So I signed up Cooper & Emily and even Elayna Bonnett joined us. We had such a fun time, I got to help out a lot (got a free gift card for helping too).

After painting...off to Sweet Frog for some yummy yogurt!! Then a quick run by the house to pick up paperwork for a Client, grab some chairs & jeans for later.  We then headed to Reggie & JoAnn's house to sign the Offer!! YEAH!!! Finally a month of negotiating, we got it Under Contract. Then quickly headed to Mi Pueblo in Clemmons to eat with Brook, Lincoln, Jamie & Waylon. Love those girls... Last but not least, Brook, Linc & us headed over to the YMCA to meet up with Paula, Scott & girls to enjoy Movie Night on the Lawn. This month's movie was Madagascar, Escape from Africa. Cooper watched the entire movie, even having a few tears during the sad parts. Spencer how ever, just enjoyed the $.50 Snow Cones, and neon sticks for playing. We made it through the entire movie this time. So needless to say boys were pooped. So why not have the girls spend the night :) So all four kiddos headed home with me for another summer slumber party. After some giggles and some bed hopping, everyone was knocked out!! All in all another GREAT summer day with my boys!!

Ice Age - Continental Drift

First I want to start by saying, I could kick myself for not starting this blog sooner. I had a pregnancy journal, baby journal, mommy journal...why not just type it all in and have it stored for me?!? Thanks to a suggestion in my Angela Thomas book, I thought I'd give it a go. So, better late than never. I am going to commit to this and see how it goes.

July 16, 2012

The day started with haircuts. 8:45am (what was I thinking), summer wake up hours in this house range from 7:00-9:00, closer to the 9:00 hour lately. But Kim squeezed us in, and both needed it. So, after haircuts we hit a few stores, bought a few toys (typical with me shopping with the boys), then the mall which always includes a Kitty On A Stick cookie (at 11:00, why not). A quick stop by Build a Bear, where Ice Age themed animals were there, thankfully two different characters. Then off to the Doctor for Spencer's ear. Swimmers ear this time, not infected :) Tonight...the movies!! Ice Age-Continental Drift came out Friday, so Cooper has waited 4 days to see the movie. Todd left work in CLT to meet us there at 6:45pm. It was Spencer's first movie, and he did rather well for a 2 1/2 year old. Complete with popcorn, candy & slushy. All in all a great day!! Love my boys!

The Great Wolfe Lodge

Sunday, July 22, 2012
With NASCAR's last off weekend of the season, we loaded up the boys and grabbed some friends (Dellinger's) and headed to Concord, first stop at Concord Mills where Spencer found his new favorite accessory.

After a bit of shopping, we headed to Great Wolf Lodge. We played in the water, rode slides & ate a TON of junk food. After story time at the big clock, we headed out for Japanese...

We finally crashed around 11:00pm, then after a morning on Dunkin Donuts, Arcade and Build A Wolfe, we headed back home. Fun weekend with great friends. So thankful to have time with Amanda and her family, I look forward to many, many more years with our families!!
